There has been a lot written about Jesus Christ
of Nazareth. Since the writers have been men, they have given a man’s perspective. I do think a woman’s perspective
is different. Not better, but different.
He was the light of the world, as you know. The world lay shrouded in darkness and sin before He came to save
us, and give us eternal hope.
He
was on a rescue mission to save us from ourselves. Some men search out
treasure of gold, or silver. He was after the treasure of our hearts. He wanted to be our permanent connection to the eternity
of heaven…to blessings, honor, glory, and power, come down to earth to restore and renew. The regeneration of mankind.
I am convinced we can live in the center
of His glory, as living expressions of His love. I believe we can walk in His power, and do unheard of miracles.
When He appeared to us after the resurrection,
He could have appeared without any scars. He
knew Thomas would need His scars to believe. I was there beside them when Thomas examined Jesus. I heard the breaking in Thomas’
voice, as the impact of his own need stirred sorrow within him.
Just like Thomas, we all need to see
His scars sometimes. We need to see proof He walked, talked, and felt just like we do. We need one another’s scars too.
Just like
Thomas needed validation, we need to know another has shared our same pain…and survived it. Continuing on…putting
one foot in front of the other…sometimes is all we can do. To know another person has walked through their own pain,
and not avoided it, means all the world to someone struggling with a similar problem.
I was so blessed to see Him, and believe, but you can reap an even
bigger blessing by believing Him without seeing Him in person. Your faith walk can be based on His Word being alive in your
life, and by His abiding presence in your heart. It can be shored up by the evidence in creation, and by the blessings He
pours into your life. Your personal walk with Him is as unique as your fingerprints. It has the indelible mark of eternity
upon it. It is sealed forever in His all enduring, ever abiding love.
